Page history last edited by Akeela Tyson 3 years ago

When I began my teaching career, many moons ago, I was overwhelmed by the generous nature of veteran teachers.  As a new teacher, I had no idea how I would gather materials to make history come alive for my students.  Teachers shared  with me posters, pamphlets, hand made resources, and old textbooks with useful strategies.  The willingness to share resources is something that has stuck with me and is an idea that I pass along to new teachers.  Within in these pages, I hope you will find something useful, give feedback, and post your ideas.

HAPPY TEACHING AND SHARING!

About Me:

My first love is history!  I love to imagine what life was like during different eras.

I have been a teacher for the Henrico County Public School system for seven years. In my classroom, I try to share my fascination with the past with my students.  I try to get my students interested in the stories behind the events so they will remember what happened before them and apply the lessons of others to their daily lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Social Studies Department Chair
